University beyond acdemics

My name is Yashasvi, and I come from a small town in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. My life has always been very simple, surrounded by family and friends. I completed my schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in Jhunjhunu.

I have chosen this university as it is quite well known in the humanities background. So my major reason was to get a quality education. Talking about the city of Delhi, I had never been to Delhi before this, and it was surely a bold decision, but it was necessary to explore myself in a new way. Hence, I ended up here.

Before joining this university , my expectations included a good academic record and to have good friends for a lifetime but after getting admission I saw a different side of the university every coming day . It is very engaging, has lots of extracurriculars and so much beyond this which helps to shape individuals into multi-talented beings. This institution is not just an educational institution, but it is a living, breathing entity that moulds individuals into compassionate, well-rounded personalities.

Everyone has their own challenges and obstacles and a journey surpassing them . I had my own when I left my comfort zone at home and decided to do everything on my own . Initially there were times when battling loneliness was really tough for me , a person who has always lived with a joint family, and adjusting to the PG life was really tough . Moreover, the fast paced life of a city which only has formal relationships was exact opposite to my village life .But with time all these challenges remained no more challenging.

Before coming to this campus I was a strong independent woman in my head only but this campus turned that thing into a reality. It changed a lot in me as a person in the past one and half years and the most significant thing that I realised is that it is okay to show your emotions.
