Firozpur, Punjab

My journey to this prestigious central university in Delhi started in a small town called Firozpur, Punjab. Life there was simple—narrow lanes, familiar faces, and a slow pace that made everything feel close and warm. But deep down, I always wanted more. I wanted to step out, explore, and grow in ways my small town couldn’t offer. When I got the chance to join this university, it felt like a leap into the unknown. Delhi was big, noisy, and nothing like home. But something inside me said, This is where you need to be.

Choosing this university was a bold decision. I didn’t know much about it, and Delhi felt overwhelming. But I trusted my instincts. I wanted a place that would challenge me, push me out of my comfort zone, and help me grow not just academically but as a person. And this university promised exactly that—a space where minds were shaped, ideas were debated, and humanity was valued.

Before joining, my expectations were a mix of excitement and fear. I hoped to find brilliant professors, inspiring peers, and a campus that felt like a second home. But I also worried—would I fit in? Would I be able to keep up? The first few weeks were tough. The city was chaotic, the workload was heavy, and the pressure to perform was real. There were days when I missed the simplicity of Firozpur—the sound of my mother’s voice, the comfort of my old room.

But slowly, this campus started shaping me in ways I hadn’t imagined. It wasn’t just about books and exams. It was about late-night conversations with friends who came from different states, speaking different languages but sharing the same dreams. It was about professors who didn’t just teach but made us question, think, and feel. The university taught me that education isn’t just about degrees—it’s about understanding people, their struggles, and their stories. It brought out a kindness in me I didn’t know I had.

Of course, the journey hasn’t been easy. There were obstacles—financial struggles, moments of self-doubt, and times when I felt lost in the crowd. There were days when the pressure felt unbearable, and the loneliness of being away from home hit hard. But with every challenge, I learned to stand a little taller. I discovered my own strength.

The person I was before coming here was hesitant, unsure, and afraid of the unknown. The person this campus has made me is different—stronger, more aware, and more human. I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come without struggle, and dreams don’t come true without courage. This university has given me more than an education—it has given me a family, a purpose, and a belief in myself.
