Coming from a small village where the weight of tradition pressed heavily, where societal norms often dictated the course of a young woman's life, the dream of a prestigious university must have felt like a distant star. I got this opportunity to present my views & experience and how it can help others. In a place where limitations cast long shadows and voices, especially those of girls, were often muted, that inner whisper ignited the vision of walking through those hallowed lanes speaks volumes about my spirit. I yearned to break free, to soar like a free bird beyond the confines of expectation. This inherent desire to transcend barriers is the powerful current that propelled me toward the corridors of this university. The seed of this dream was planted early, My brother's mention of the college in the 7th grade, a time when the distinction between college and school was still hazy, yet it sparked a resolute promise within me. That childhood vow, held onto for six long years, showcases a remarkable early determination. The subsequent research into admission procedures, the initial understanding of merit-based entry, and then the shift to the CUET – I navigated these evolving pathways with a focused goal in mind. My decision to opt for humanities in a society that often elevates science above all other streams was a significant act of courage. To choose a path aligned with my interests, even when facing societal criticism, demonstrates a strong sense of self and the unwavering support of my family. Their belief in me, standing firm against the tide of societal pressure, have been a powerful source of strength. The journey to even reach the entrance exams was fraught with its own challenges. Feeling clueless about the English paper, a crucial hurdle, highlights the vulnerabilities one faces when stepping into unfamiliar territory.
The arrival of my "saviour friend," who provided guidance and resources, underscores the importance of connection and support in navigating these pivotal moments. Making it to my dream college alongside my friend have been a moment of shared triumph, a testament to both our individual efforts and the power of camaraderie. However, that was not the end of the struggle, but perhaps the beginning of a new chapter of challenges. The prospect of moving to an unknown city, far from the familiar embrace of my village, where every face, language, and cultural nuance was unfamiliar, understandably brought resistance. The apprehension of my loved ones about sending me so far into the unknown is a natural concern. It speaks volumes about their love and protectiveness. Yet, their ultimate decision to support me, fuelled by trust in my potential, paved the way for this transformative experience. Choosing this University and city wasn’t just a decision; it was a leap of faith. I was drawn to the University's commitment to not just academic excellence, but its promise of nurturing individuals who aspire to bring change—not just to their lives, but to the world. I wanted to create my own individuality and that's what this university had in its lineage as it nurtured each student according to their personality. Being a student who was always creative with her ideas and thought, this uni has unfolded as a realm of boundless opportunities .
Each and every day I came across new thoughts of different individuals which is shaping my way of thinking too and bringing many new positivity. Coming from a small village of Bihar and surrounded by the love and care of my family, It was so difficult to have an emotional balance here as I was so homesick, but with the passage of time I coped up with this too. I was the sort of person who panicked at every moment if things didn't work as per my plan. This uni has helped me to inherit patience & perseverance -essential tools for navigating the inevitable twists and turns of life . Despite changing me as a person it is shaping me in my best version each day and bringing in me many new positivity.
