Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan

Namaste there, I am Anju Sharma a undergraduate student at an esteemed central university. I hail from Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. I had a tight way to become part of this prestigious institution. I completed my schooling from Govt. Senior secondary school, Bhukana. I had a lot of hardships at home (traditional & financial both) while continuing my studies, but my teachers and parents continuously encouraged me to go on. Besides all the family problems, financial hardships were the real headache.

One of my schoolteachers introduced me to this idea of studying in central university and me and my father secretly dreamt about me being a girl student studying in Delhi away from home. Finally, I got to know that I got the desired course and college, at this moment We realized that We did it.

But sooner, I researched and got to know the harsh reality of expenses of PGs in Delhi and then I literally changed my mind to not to pursue my dreams and support my family financially. there comes my father with a mountainous courage and inspired me to not look back in life ever, this was the turning point in my life. The only person of my entire family who supported my father was my mother.

After shifting to Delhi, I found out that it is not always what you have expected the teachers, batchmates and Culture was so quid pro quo and being a girl coming from vibrant village life it was very awkward, depressing and suffocating for me. At this time, I was so disappointed with college and if this was not enough then comes the final nail in the coffin “language barrier or inferiority complex” English was a real depressing point for me. Finally with the blessings of God, my family, schoolteachers and some of the professors I regained the confidence academically did well.

Over the time I find some people here (not many) who become a ray of hope in this gloomy world of meekness. Alongside I joined some societies where I found some friendly people and I accelerated my social efforts in college. Later I realised that this college gave me the platform, the people, and the opportunities which I am really grateful for.

After all this experiences I learned a strong lesson that we human beings are gradually leaving humanity behind and moving forward like a cog in a machine or machine itself with no sense of empathy, belongingness and kindness. These traits are sui generis to human beings, by being a little conscious about humanity the feeling of being kind to others we can make this world a better place. With all this I want to thank all the people, places and God who believed in me. I encourage all the readers to believe and go on in life no matter what happened, happens or will happen and being kind to others.

Last but not the least, I would like to thank Humanity@2047 for providing an e-platform to pen down the journeys of all the students who think that they are facing a lot, this platform provides a substantial opportunity to those who want to relate, inspire and link with others.
