Leaving my small village, Mahil, in Khunti, Jharkhand, felt like stepping into a different world. Back home, girls rarely get the chance to study far away. I am the first from my village to do so, carrying not just my own dreams but the silent hopes of many others who may one day follow.
Choosing this prestigious central university in Delhi was a leap of faith. The city was unfamiliar, the people unknown, and the journey uncertain. But I knew if I wanted to grow, I had to take this step. The university’s reputation, its faculty, and the promise of new experiences pulled me in. I longed to learn beyond books, to meet people from different backgrounds, and to understand a world far bigger than the one I had known.
Before coming here, I imagined intellectual discussions, inspiring professors, and the best learning resources. I expected diversity, opportunities, and an environment that would shape me. But what I found was much more.
This university didn’t just meet my expectations; it transformed me. I discovered the thrill of quizzing and fell in love with it. The quizzing circuit in Delhi is electrifying, and I now feel like a part of something bigger. The library became my escape, a place where I could lose myself in endless knowledge. Workshops, speaker sessions, and student societies introduced me to ideas and cultures I had never known. More than anything, this place has taught me to be bold, to carry myself with confidence, and to navigate life’s ups and downs with resilience.
But growth comes with challenges. Financial struggles often make things harder, and time management remains an ongoing battle. There were moments of doubt, of feeling lost and overwhelmed. Yet, every time I thought of giving up, I reminded myself why I started.
The girl who arrived here was unsure and hesitant. The person I am becoming is strong, confident, and ready for the world. This university has not just given me an education; it has given me a new identity. I have learned that stepping out of your comfort zone is never easy, but it is always worth it. And now, I walk forward, knowing that if I can make it here, I can make it anywhere.
