A Journey of Change and Choice

Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan
I’m from Sri Ganganagar, which is a location of warmth and tranquility where values and simplicity are deeply ingrained. My origins are ingrained in a place that goes at its own speed and where dreams are frequently constrained by boundaries created by familiarity and comfort. But there was always a part of me that yearned for more—more growth, more experiences, more insight into the universe. My decision to leave everything familiar and venture into the unknown was fueled by that desire.Deciding on this university in a strange, far-off city was not simple. It was a change in everything I knew, not just a change in location.
However, I was looking for meaning rather than solace. In my opinion, in order to discover previously undiscovered aspects of oneself, one must occasionally make audacious choices. And that conviction led me here, to a location that gradually began transforming from strange walls into a mirror that reflected my intended self.Stories of progress, obstacles, and possibilities molded my expectations before to joining. I wanted to be in an environment that would push me, test not only my academic abilities but also my moral fiber.
I saw late-night conversations, cultural celebrations, homework difficulties, and unanticipated friendships. I had no idea how much this place would force me to face my own issues. For me, this university has evolved into a place of transformation as well as an educational institution. It was there that I discovered the power of kindness, the importance of listening before speaking, and the importance of caring beyond convenience.
I discovered a side of myself that I was unaware of through group activities, community service, and endless discussions with people from across the nation. The location is helping me become a person with a stronger heart and softer eyes. The trip hasn’t always been easy, of course. Language was a hurdle, homesickness struck hard, and the sense of “not fitting in” frequently attempted to drag me down. Every breakdown resulted in a breakthrough, but there were moments when I doubted my decision.
I gradually began to find solace in new connections, optimism in modest accomplishments, and strength in the library’s quiet. Looking back at the individual who first entered this school years ago, I saw someone who was apprehensive, inexperienced, and naïve. I see someone who is more grounded, conscious, and fearless of change today. I learned how to live, how to feel, and most significantly, how to grow, on this campus, in addition to academic subjects.
